Totem Pole

A totem pole has been made from an old door post left over from the construction of the house. The totem pole is both carved and built up with plaster. There are two kachina faces on each side of the pole and a symbolic raven on top. The pole is installed in an opening in the pinion forest just below the portal of the home. A spot along the rock wall that runs through the property provides a view of the two rear kachina faces. The use of natural and existent material is in keeping with the ecological friendliness of the installation. The totem pole is well integrated with the other installations on the property, and the rock wall ties all of them together in a pleasing unit.
