Patriot-Act was my response to the loss of freedoms engendered by the contents of this document. The thought that we could be placed in confinement without access to legal counsel, without being formally charged of a crime, not being able to face an accuser, and no trial by peers seems to violate the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The political painting is in muted colors of red, white and blue to represent the fading of these rights or freedoms. The prisoner was incarcerated symbolically on July 4th and began marking days on the wall. The markings end when the prisoner feels that all is hopeless. The words constitution, trial by peers, legal counsel, etc. are scratched on the wall and marked out with blood red.
