Jack rabbits and cottontails are often seen around our property. The smaller cottontails stay closer to the house for protection from the coyotes. They are frequently in our driveway and seek the drain pipes to get out of reach of the predators. The jack rabbits stay further away, but they can be seen eating the vegetation above our rock wall or else bounding up steep rocky slopes to hide. This rendition has been “tamed” by a little red neck ribbon.
