Feathers are important to native populations around the world. They are used in dances, costumes, and rites of passage. Finding a feather on a walk conjures up a vision of the bird. These feathers were purchased during a morning stroll through the farmers market. They are from domestic birds and do not represent a threat to wild populations; however, Native Americans are permitted to collect eagle feathers under special circumstances. The feathers in the photograph may be falling from the sky or from a hand during a ritual ceremony.
