Inner-World is a contemporary representation of passage through one of the inner worlds. Man did not evolve into his present form until he reached the outer world. In the inner worlds he was in the form of insects who through sinful behavior were forced to flee through a hole in the sky into other inner worlds. This scene represents the emergence of kachina faced insects through a hole into an inner world of birds. There are many variations of the creation story among Native American tribes; however, most involve emergence from an inner world.
