Golf Courses with 45 minute drive of Santa Fe

Black Mesa Golf Club is a public resort 18-hole course designed by Robert Baxter Spann. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways Kentucky bluegrass. The distances range from 7,300 yards (black, 73.9 rated) to 6,300 yards (white, 68.6 rated) and 5,200 yards (gold, 66.9 rated). Tee times may be made 14 days in advance by calling 505-747-8946. Green Fees are $59 weekdays, $64 on weekends and $40 for Seniors M-Th. This is a tough course starting with a blind tee shot over a hill in front of the first tee. The course is located about 30 minutes north of Santa Fe at 115 NM 399 (Take US84/285 toward Taos from Santa Fe, the take 399 west just before you get to Espanola.)

Pueblo de Cochiti is a public 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. The greens are Penncross bentgrass, and the fairways are Kentucky bluegrass. The distances range from 6,817 yards (gold, 71.0 rated) to 5,841 yards (white, 66.1 rated) and 5,100 yards (red, 68.3 rated). Although the course is short the fairway grass is not cut short, and the ball does not roll as far as other courses in the area. The rough can be challenging; however, it is a pretty, fun and interesting course to play. Tee times may be made 7 days in advance by calling 505-465-2239 or 465-2230. The course is about 30 minutes south of Santa Fe. Take I-25 south to Exit 264 where you go west on N.M. 16 then right on N.M. 22 and follow the signs.

Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe is a public 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Baxter Spann. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are bluegrass and fescue. The distances range from 7,415 yards (Gold, 73.0 rated) to 5,540 yards (white, 70.7 rated) and 5,045 yards (red). Green Fees (cart not included) are $30.50 weekdays and $32.75 weekends. Seniors 60 and older $23.25 at all times. The course can be fun, but play usually is slow.Tee times may be made up to seven days in advanced by calling 505-955-4400. Los Alamos Golf Course is a public 18-hole golf course designed by William Tucker. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways Kentucky bluegrass. The distance range from 6,500 yards (blue, 69.7 rated) to 5,500 yards (white, 64.7 rated) and 5,200 yards (red, 67.1 rated). Tee time can be made 1 day in advance by calling 505-662-8139. Green Fees (cart not included) are $28 and for seniors $30 with cart M-Th.

Santa Fe Country Club is a semiprivate 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Bendalow. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways Kentucky bluegrass. The distances range from 7,113 yards (Gold, 72.0 rated) to 5,861 yards (white, 68.4 rated) and red 5,498 (Red, 70.1 rated). Green Fees (cart not included) are: weekdays prime time $30.00, twilight $17.50; weekends prime time $40.00, twilight $25.00. Seniors weekdays $20 and weekends $30. Towa Resort is a public 27-hole course designed by Hale Irwin and William Phillips. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways Kentucky bluegrass. The distances range from 7143 yards (Gold, 73.1 rated) to 5,527 (white, 65.3 rated) and 4,865 (red). The course is quite challenging so stay out of the arroyos and choose your club well on par 3 number 4 with about a 40 yard drop to an island green and par 3 number 9 with an 80 yard drop to a green surrounded by impossible terrain. Tee times may be made seven days in advance by calling 505-466-9000 or 877-465-3489. The large casino and hotel adjacent to the course will be completed in late 2008. Angel Fire Country Club is a 18-hole resort course designed by Paul Ortiz. The distances range from 6,645 yards (blue, 71.1 rated) to 6,304 yards (white, 69.6 rated) and 5,430 yards (red, 70.3 rated). The greens are bentgrass and the fairways bluegrass. Green Fees are $83 M-Th and $98 weekends and holidays. Senior fees are $72 M-Th. Tee times can be made 7 days in advance by calling 505-377-3055 or 800-633-7463. The drive from Santa Fe is slightly greater than 2 hours.

Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club is a 27-hole public course designed by Ken Dye. The distances range from 7,562 yards (black, 75.2 rated) to 5,702 yards (gray, 66.1 rated). The course is very beautiful and quite challenging. Green Fees (cart not included) are $79 M-Th and $99 F-Sun and on holidays. Senior Fees are $59 M – Th. Tee times may be made 1 month in advance by calling 505-281-6000. The course is south of Santa Fe through Madrid and only 9 miles from I-40 on the northeast side of Sandia Mountain.

Pendaries is a resort 18-hole course designed by Don Burns. The distances range from 6,500 yards (black, 69.7 rated) to 5,810 yards (white, 66.4 rated) and 5,021 (red, 67.1 rated). Green Fees (cart not included) are $45 M-Th and $55 F-S. Advanced tee times may be made by calling 505-425-3561 or 800-733-5267. The course is located in Rociada about 2 hours drive from Santa Fe. Take I-25 north to Las Vegas, then N.M. 518 to Sapello and N.M. 94 to Rociada.

Santa Ana Golf Course is a 27 hole public course designed by Ken Killian. The rating and slope range from 67.3 and 118 to 74.1 and 135. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways Kentucky bluegrass. Green Fees are $33 M-Th and $42 F-S and holidays. Senior rates are $26 M-Th and $35 F-S. Tee times can be made in advance by calling 505-867-9464 The course is located on the Santa Ana Pueblo at 288 Prairie Star Road near the town of Bernallilo about 50 minutes drive from Santa Fe.

Taos Country Club is a 18-hole semiprivate course designed by Jep Willie. The distances range from 7,320 yards (green, 73.6 rated) to 6,123 yards (black, 68.4 rated) and 5,343 yards (silver, 64.5 rated). The greens are bentgrass, the fairways bluegrass and rye, and the rough is fescue. Green fees are $59 M-th and $69 F-S. Tee time can be made 14 days in advance by calling 505-758-7300. The course is located at 54 Golf Course Drive (N.M. 68 and county road 110). The course is about 2 hours from Santa Fe.

Twin Warriors is a 189-hole resort course designed by Gary Panks. The distances range from 7,736 yards (tour, 75.0 rated) to 6,485 yards (resort, 69.6 rated) and 5,843 yards (forward, 75.1 rated).
