Desert Landscape-1 is a palette-knife painting of a desert landscape that emphasizes the harshness of the environment. A cluster of buildings can be seen huddled against the hillside. A source of water must be available in order to survive in this location. The shortage of water is becoming more critical each year, and exteded periods of drought result in abandoned homes and buildings. These ruins decay slowly in the desert climate, but they provide opportunities for photography and study.
